Yuvraj Singh has a very big role in lifting up the cricket level in India. He has played brilliant match-winning knocks during his time and helped team India in winning big tournaments. Who can forget his contribution in the first T20 World Cup 2007 and 2011 ICC World Cup?  From scoring runs under pressure to picking up wickets to break partnerships and then going out in the middle to take some brilliant catches, Yuvraj has done it all.

Yuvraj Singh Named Sourav Ganguly As His Best Captain But Ashish Nehra Disagrees

Recently, Yuvraj Singh named Sourav Ganguly as his best captain, however, he also added that it is very difficult to choose between Sourav and Mahi. During the “I have played under Sourav (Ganguly) and had a lot of support from him. Then Mahi (MS Dhoni) took over. It’s a difficult choice to make between Sourav and Mahi.”

“I have more memories of time under Sourav because of the support he gave me. I didn’t have that kind of support from Mahi and Virat (Kohli),” Yuvraj further added.

Although Yuvraj Singh’s teammate Ashish Nehra does not agree with his statement on picking up the best the captain. Ashish Nehra personally thinks that Yuvraj Singh has played well under MS Dhoni.  He pointed out that the way Yuvraj batted in 2007 and 2008 onwards, going into the World Cup 2011, it was just brilliant.

“Yuvraj has played well under MS Dhoni, as far as I have seen Yuvraj’s career, the way he has batted in 2007 and 2008 onwards it has been impeccable and in 2011 we saw how he braved his sickness and played brilliantly under Dhoni,” said Nehra during the show “Cricket Connected” on Star Sports.

Under MS Dhoni captainship when India lifted the ICC World Cup 2011, Yuvraj Singh awarded with Player of the Tournament. He had scored 362 runs and taken 15 wickets in that tournament. Ashish Nehra was also a part of that team.
