Team India’s star leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is all set to make his county debut for Kent on September 10 against Nottinghamshire. There’s quite a bit of hype about Yuzvendra Chahal’s County debut and in this space, you’ll find the complete details of when & where to watch Kent vs Nottinghamshire match.

Chahal was sidelined by the national selectors as he didn’t get a spot in the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The leg-spinner then signed up with English county side Kent for the remaining games of the County Championship Division One 2023.

Yuzvendra Chahal County Debut: Star leg-spinner set to play 3 games for Kent

Chahal will remain available for Kent’s remaining home ties against Nottinghamshire and Lancashire, as well as the away fixture versus Somerset. On September 6, Kent announced on their official Twitter handle that they have signed him up for the remaining matches of the County Championship Division One 2023.

“We’re delighted to announce the signing of India leg-spinner @yuzi_chahal for our remaining @CountyChamp matches!” Kent Cricket wrote on Twitter.

“This is an exciting challenge for me, playing in English county cricket, and one I’m very much looking forward to,” Yuzvendra Chahal said in an official statement.

“We’re delighted to have secured a spinner of Yuzvendra’s quality for the last three Championship matches of the season, with Matt Parkinson not available to us until next year, and Hami Qadri recently injured,” Kent head coach Paul Downton said.

The leg-spinner will become the second Indian to be playing for the Kent team after left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh, who had featured in 5 matches for them earlier in the season and had sclaped 13 wickets.

It’s worth noting that Chahal hasn’t represented the Men in Blue in the longest format of the game yet. This county stint might actually help him to take his red-ball game to the next level.

He has played 33 First-Class matches and has taken 87 wickets at an average of 35.25 with the best figures of 6 for 44. He played 2 games in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season for his state side Haryana and took just 3 wickets.
