As India prepares for yet another challenging Test series in England, KL Rahul finds himself on the brink of some personal milestones. The Bengaluru-born cricketer has shown signs of his form in the ongoing unofficial Test, wherein he scored 116 in the first innings and followed it up with 51 in the second innings.

The 33-year-old will be eyeing multiple milestones in the upcoming series. He scored 955 runs in 13 Tests against England at an average of 57.82. He just needs 45 more runs to enter the elite 1000-run club, a feat achieved by 16 Indians so far. If he gets there, then he will be the 17th Indian cricketer to accomplish the feat.
Given his terrific form, it is highly likely that he will go on to score more runs with an aim to finish as the leading run-scorer of the series. Rahul could go past Sourav Ganguly’s run tally against England. The former Indian skipper scored 983 runs in 13 Tests against England in his career, with an average of nearly 58, including three centuries.
Rahul isn’t far behind, and he is just 29 runs short of overtaking Ganguly’s tally. If he scores a century, then he will move ahead of him in both runs and hundreds against England in red-ball cricket.
