India Tour of Zimbabwe 2026: Key Squad Updates
India have made a few changes to their squad ahead of the Zimbabwe T20Is. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has joined the team after Varun Chakravarthy was ruled out due to injury.
Chakravarthy missed India’s final two T20Is against England because of a hamstring issue. After medical assessments, the team management decided that the spinner needed more time to recover.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson remains one of the biggest names missing from the squad. The wicketkeeper-batter has not received a place in the Zimbabwe series despite being part of India’s squad for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
The BCCI has not confirmed whether Samson’s absence is due to rest or selection reasons. Along with Samson, several regular names, including Axar Patel, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Washington Sundar, have also missed out.
The series will see some exciting young players join the Indian setup. Rinku Singh has returned to India’s T20 plans, while fast bowler Mayank Yadav also gets another opportunity.
Four players have received their maiden T20I call-ups. Prabhsimran Singh, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma and left-arm spin all-rounder Harsh Dubey are part of the squad and will hope to make their international debut.
