Ex-Pakistani cricketers were triggered after team jerseys had the name missing of the host country Pakistan below the Asia Cup logo. Despite being the official hosts of the Asia Cup 2023 the country’s name on the team jerseys is missing. The controversy is catching fire on social media rapidly.
The ongoing Asia Cup has only seen two games till now but it has already seen a big controversy where Pakistani fans are extremely disappointed with ACC’s approach. Fans voiced out their dismay on social media handles as the name of the host nation was missing from the participating team’s jersey of Asia Cup.
During the opening encounter between hosts Pakistan and Nepal at Multan fans saw the jersey for the first time in which the host nation’s name was not written below the Asia Cup logo. Things escalated when they saw Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in which again their jerseys had no name of hosts.
Fans were absolutely sorrowful after they saw no team had the name of the hosts on their jersey. Moreover, some fans even argued and reflected back to the last edition when Sri Lanka had their name printed on every team’s jersey despite they were not able to host the tournament in their home.
Why Pakistan’s name is missing from team jerseys?
After fans expressed their disappointment on the internet the PCB was obligated to clarify the matter. The PCB official said that it was decided last year by the ACC that the team jerseys will not feature the host nation’s name from the next coming Asia Cup tournaments.
However Pakistani fans are absolutely against this decision as it was the first time after 15 years they were hosting any multination tournament. The Pakistani netizens are taking this on their pride and they are questioning PCB for accepting such laws set by the governing body.

The ex-cricketer of Pakistan are fuming with anger after their name went missing from the jerseys of Asia Cup 2023. Mohsin Khan points out a valid point in which he says “Makes no sense at all. Then why has the ACC given the host country’s name on the logos for their Asian Emerging Nations Cup or their Asian under-16 event held in July in Malaysia,”
In addition, Rashid Latif added by blaming ACC president Jay Shah for being biased towards his homeland. Latif said “Given the current scenario between the two countries perhaps the BCCI official felt it would be embarrassing for the Indian team players to wear kits with the name of Pakistan on the official Asia Cup logo,”
