Team India completely dominated the first day of the first test at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur after their pacers gave them a great start.

Mohammed Siraj dismissed Usman Khawaja as the Indian team had to use DRS in order to overturn the on-field umpire’s decision after which Australian media questioned DRS technology in India.

Mohammed Siraj dismissed Usman Khawaja on his very first delivery of the innings’ second over. However, umpire Nitin Menon had rejected Team India’s appeal after which skipper Rohit Sharma took DRS against the decision.

The third umpire used the ball tracking system in order to review the decision and it was clearly shown that the ball would have struck the leg stump after which Nitin Menon had to overturn his decision and Usman Khawaja was given out.

However, Fox Cricket, an Australian media outlet, put some question marks over DRS technology in India as it tweeted,“Ball tracker broken?“

Team India’s former batting coach Sanjay Bangar was asked about the disappointment shown by Australian media during an interaction on Star Sports to which he claimed that their media couldn’t digest Team India’s domination on day 1.

“Well I am not on Twitter. But in India-Australia series you have to be in touch with what is happening around the globe. Some media from Australia saying that the ball tracker (is) broken and they are not happy with the DRS. And now that’s crying, all these. They can’t digest the fact that the Indian team has dominated on Day 1,” said Bangar.

While Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami dismissed both the Aussie openers in quick succession, the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin rushed through the Australian middle and lower order.

Ravindra Jadeja, who made his international comeback after 5 months didn’t let the Aussie batters settle on the pitch and grabbed a five-wicket haul and was well supported by Ravichandran Ashwin who took 3 crucial wickets as the Australian side was dismissed for 177 runs in the first innings.
