Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 46th match of IPL 2024 at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. The Yellow Army started to feel some pressure when they lost to Lucknow Super Giants in the back-to-back games but they ensured to turn up the ante against Sunrisers Hyderabad to notch up their fifth win of this season. They won the game by 78 runs and bounced back to form in the playoffs battle.
A lot of drama happened during the CSK vs SRH match and most of them became major talking point on social media circles. Sakshi Dhoni was in attendance during the fixture last night and she was seen cheering for the Whistle Podu army at the gallery. When MS Dhoni struck a four off T Natarajan, Sakshi stood up and cheered for her husband.

Besides that, a recent Instagram story by Sakshi Dhoni grabbed widespread attention during the game. Her light-hearted yet earnest request to the team to “wrap up the match quickly” because she was “soon to be an aunt” resonated with fans, turning the Instagram post into a viral sensation soon after the game came to a close. Even the netizens chipped in with interesting reactions to the post.

The match ended little earlier in 18.5 overs as the Sunrisers were bowled out for 134 runs. Pat Cummins and Co. messed up the plot in the run-chase after their top-order batters succumbed to CSK’s bowlers in the powerplay. Batting first, the five-time IPL champions posted 212/3 in their quota of 20 overs. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad top-scored with 98 off 54 balls, laced with 10 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 181.48.

Gaikwad was named the Man of the Match for his stellar knock but would be disappointed to have missed out on his century by 2 runs. Currently, CSK captain is the second leading run-scorer in the ongoing IPL 2024 tournament with 447 runs in 9 games at an average of 63.86, including three fifties and a century. CSK will play against Punjab Kings on May 1, Wednesday at Chepauk Stadium.
