The ongoing ODI series against Bangladesh has been a forgettable one for Indian Cricket. In the first ODI, the hosts snatched victory from the Rohit Sharma-led side all thanks to KL Rahul for slipping an easy catch. In the 2nd ODI, we witness batting failure as star-stubbed India failed to chase 271. The 3rd ODI will now see some changes as far as the Indian team is concerned.
Three Injured Players Ruled Out of BAN vs IND ODI series
In just two games, three players have been injured and ruled out of the series. In the first game, Kuldeep Sen made his ODI debut but it didn’t prove to be a memorable one as the pacer suffered a hamstring. The injury saga continued in the second ODI as first Rohit Sharma injured his thumb while Deepak Chahar also left the field suffering a hamstring.
Rohit Sharma has flown to Mumbai for specialist consultation and KL Rahul has been named captain for the 3rd ODI. As per reports, Rohit may miss Test series as well. On the other hand, Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar will report National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for further management of their injuries.
Kuldeep Yadav Joins Squad for 3rd ODI
The All-India Senior Selection Committee of BCCI has deemed to name only one replacement and which is Kuldeep Yadav. India didn’t have a leg-spinner in the squad and played Shahbaz Ahmed and Axar Patel as their main spinner in 1st and 2nd ODIs respectively. While Washington Sundar played the first two games as a spin all-rounder and did really well. The Chennai-born has struck 5 wickets in the series so far.

On the other hand, Shahbaz and Axar Patel were not effective with the ball but the latter did well with the bat as he scored run a ball 56 in the recent match. It will be interesting to see if Kuldeep Yadav gets a chance in the KL Rahul-led side for the final ODI of the series.
