The Indian team cruised to a pretty comfortable 96-run victory over their Caribbean rivals in the final ODI of the series. In fact, few might say that some of the players enjoyed themselves a bit too much on the field while going about their business.
Rishabh Pant at his mischievous best during the 3rd ODI
Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was one of those players, engaging in some harmless off-field mischief even before the match had started. When he wasn’t trying to ‘kick’ and scare his captain Rohit Sharma, he was always looking for ways to make life more miserable for his beloved ‘Cheeku bhaiya’, aka, Virat Kohli.
Virat was fielding at second-slip during West Indies batting innings and had just taken the catch of Darren Bravo. Clearly, the team was in high spirits to pick up a couple more quick wickets and be done with the game as soon as possible. That’s why captain Rohit Sharma decided to bring in a spinner- something that has been the bane of the West Indies team all through the series.
Virat and co. were heard cheering the spinners to bowl well and get rid of the on-strike Jason Holder. The usually chirpy Pant was also engaged in the act, and had a few bowling suggestions for the fielders assembled. At one point in Kuldeep Yadav’s over, he asked if the bowler should try to bowl a slightly back-of-the length delivery in an attempt to get the wicket. “Yeh waala upar lele kya? (Should he take this one slightly upwards?)”, he was heard asking Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli not too keen with Pant’s upward-bowling idea
Kohli, however, seemed a bit tired from collecting all the tricky catches at the slip cordon, and had the mind to convey his rejection towards the idea in some choice words. Here’s what he said to Pant. And for this one, we’ll leave you to figure out the translation yourself.
