The 9th edition of the Caribbean Premier League kicks off with a doubleheader on Thursday. There will be a total of 12 doubleheaders and 2 three-match days in an action-packed CPL 2021. The league stage will be followed by the semi-finals and the final which are to be played on the 14th and 15th of September respectively. The domestic Twenty20 cricket league of the Caribbean this year is scheduled to be played from 26th August to 15th September. The IPL is the main reason why every day in the CPL this year is a double or a tripleheader day, except the final. With the second leg of IPL starting from the 19th of September, the CPL has to conclude beforehand. All the matches of the tournament this year will be played at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium in St Kitts.

A total of 33 matches are to be played in the T20 tournament with various start times – 12:00 AM, 04:30 AM & 07:30 PM IST. Six teams will compete against each other over a period of 20 days for the CPL 2021 title. Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, St Lucia Kings & Trinbago Knight Riders are the teams.
