CSK uncertain about the availability of two Star Indian players; one might miss the whole season

With the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League just around the corner, all the franchises are gearing up and the players are preparing to give their best shot. However, the defending champions Chennai Super Kings have got some issues to address as two of their important players, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar have sustained injuries. The unfortunate damage to the Yellow Army has left CSK uncertain about the availability of these two.

CSK uncertain about Deepak Chahar & Ruturaj Gaikwad

Deepak Chahar has been a regular performer for CSK and has proved his mettle many a times. The bowler has a knack of taking wickets during the powerplay overs and his ability to move the ball both ways make him lethal. On the other hand, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has been an excellent find for the team and ended up being the highest run scorer in the last edition. Unluckily, both these players have suffered injuries and have left CSK uncertain.

Deepak Chahar got injured while playing the last T20I against West Indies. He suffered a right quadriceps injury which made him unavailable for the Sri Lanka series as well. Ruturaj Gaikwad was really unfortunate as he suffered an injury just before he was going to debut for team India in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. He suffered a hand injury and the latest report on him is yet to come.

Both the players are recovering in NCA and Kasi VIshwanathan confirmed that they don’t have any update on the players’ health yet. They are still awaiting the update from the BCCI who will be communicating with the franchise about the availability of both the players. “We are not aware of their current fitness status and won’t be able to tell you when they would join the squad,” said Vishwanathan as quoted by PTI.

Only the time will tell when both these players will be available for the upcoming season of the IPL. As for now, things don’t look too good. The fans would definitely want the match-winning players to join the team as soon as possible.
