It is a fact well known that cricket is worshipped in India and some cricketers become larger-than-life characters and are loved by the fans unconditionally. MS Dhoni is one such name in Indian cricket who enjoys a great fan following across the world. Many times, fans have tried to meet the legend while he is in action on the field. One such incident was seen in the CSK vs RR match, where the umpire becomes an obstacle for a fan who attempted to meet Dhoni.
The umpire becomes an obstacle for a fan
MS Dhoni retired from international cricket some time back, but that has not affected his popularity in any manner. The CSK captain along with his team has a massive fan following across the country and their fans are always supporting them wherever they play. One of the fans went a step ahead and tried to meet Dhoni, up close and personal. He breached security and tried to approach Dhoni but the umpire becomes an obstacle for him and he was taken away by the security.

The incident took place when Moeen Ali and MS Dhoni were trying to build the inning after losing 4 wickets. The fan dodged the security and attempted to approach Dhoni who was on the field, however Chris Gaffaney, the on-field umpire becomes an obstacle for the young fan and did not let him go close to Dhoni. The fan was later shown the way out by the security.
Chennai Super Kings played their last game against Rajasthan Royals which they lost, owing to R Ashwin’s all-around heroics for RR. Chennai gave a below-par target of 151 to Rajasthan and they attained it fairly easily because of an amazing batting display by Ashwin. Rajasthan sealed the second spot owing to the win, while the loss took Chennai’s tally of losses to 10.
