Team India was in a terrible situation when Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav’s weak communication cost Surya’s wicket. The wicket opened the door for New Zealand for the comeback, however, Kohli and Jaddu took India home in the end. The runout occurred 1 over after well-set KL Rahul departed by Santner’s skillful delivery.
Virat Kohli has been involved in many runouts since his early days in International cricket. Even after being one of the quickest on the field, Kohli has been seen losing his own wicket and more often his partner’s wicket.

While chasing a challenging total of 274 runs India lost their top 4 batters on 182 runs during the 32nd over of the game. Then, Santner produced a moment of magic in which he stopped a well-timed cover drive from Surya and also threw the ball instantly.
On the other hand, both the India batters were surprised and confused after looking at Santer’s and stopped as they decided to take a run. Santer who was stationed at covers rapidly grabbed the ball and threw it towards bowler’s end.

Virat Kohli who was at major fault called Surya for a run first as he thought Santner wouldn’t be able to collect the ball but it happens otherwise. After leaving the crease at first Kohli decided to step back from the run but unfortunately, Surya reached the halfway mark responding to his senior call.
It was a bad idea for Surya to respond to Kohli’s call as he was run out by mile when Latham removed the bails. However, Surya didn’t show an inch of anger or frustration towards Kohli who was the culprit of the Runout.
