Eyebrows were raised when Royal Challenger’s Bangalore shelled out 4.80 crores for Dan Christian. The decision was backed by two reasons; (i) He’s a trophy magnet, and (ii) He did exceptionally well in Sydney Sixers’ tournament win right before the auctions were held. But even the ‘lucky charms’ suffer from ill-luck and as it stood, Dan’s stint with RCB didn’t turn out too good as he potentially cost his team an IPL title.

The eliminator was in balance with Knight Riders 3 for 79 as the eleventh over ended with Venkatesh’s wicket. Both the sides took a gamble; Morgan sent Sunil Narine ahead of himself and DK, while Virat trusted Dan Christian with the 12th over. Christian’s 1st ball against Narine was a slower bouncer, 2nd was full, on the sticks, and the 3rd one was full and wide. Sunil smacked all three deliveries out of the stadium. Three consecutive sixes. Pure nonchalance. The match was killed then and there as the over-cost RCB a total of 22 runs.
Christian was labeled as the sole culprit of RCB’s loss as he later failed to defend seven off the last over. Some toxic RCB fans went completely senseless after the match was concluded. In his Instagram stories, Dan Christian shared a couple of screenshots of abusive messages sent to Jorgia Dunn, his wife. In the first one, a guy is seen calling Dunn a f*cker via Direct Message.
The second DM shared by Christian(again, in his stories) is way worse with assaultive and insensitive remarks being made against his pregnant wife. It also involves their child who’s not even born yet. We can’t even share the exact words here. It’s that bad. Below are screenshots of Dan’s Instagram stories if you wanna read them.

SportsTime247 stands against any such activities with all its might. Such behavior in the name of ’emotions’ is extremely pathetic and should be despised by one and all. It has to be understood that every sports professional wants their team to win. They try their absolute best and never shy away from putting in the efforts. To give such hate to the professional and/or their family members just reflects on the amount of senselessness in the hater’s viewpoint. Here’s hoping that this toxic behavior from Indian cricket fans stops. It’s not the first time such a case has come out. We all know it far too well, don’t we?
