On Friday, West Indies clinched the two matches T20 series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka with 2-0. Meanwhile, during the first match of the series at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele, a drunk Sri Lankan Fan was seen misbehaving with the foreign couple, which is not a good thing for our society.
The foreign couple was present in the stadium to watch the game between Sri Lanka and West Indies. While they were enjoying match a Sri Lankan drunk fan started harassing them. The drunkard had taken offence to the female foreign national wrapping the Sri Lankan flag around her body. He then decided to verbally abuse the couple. Not only this but also none of the other fans present in the stadium tried to intervene in the matter.
Fortunately, the video of the incident has been recorded in the camera and now the video has gone viral on social media. Several Sri Lankan supporters have since gone on to express their apologies to the couple. The fans also have criticised the drunken Man for his action and now demanding some legal action on him.
According to the Daily Mirror, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has said that he has informed the Ministry Secretary to send the video footage to the IGP requesting him to carry out an investigation into the incident.
