The MS Dhoni-led CSK side didn’t rely on a few match-winners in IPL 2023 and rather found different heroes in different games. While Devon Conway, Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad performed exceedingly well for CSK, they kept getting useful contributions from all the players as per the situation.
Dwaine Pretorius hails CSK’s commendable teamwork
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the only CSK player in the IPL 2023 Team of The Tournament courtesy of his consistent performance with the ball and useful contributions with the bat. After the team was announced, Dwaine Pretorius took to Instagram on May 31 and praised Chennai Super Kings for their exceptional team effort throughout the tournament.
“When only one of your teammates makes the team of the tournament, but you won it – then you know it was a team effort,” Dwaine Pretorius wrote on his Instagram story.

CSK’s success in the IPL 2023 Final against the defending champions Gujarat Titans further exemplified their teamwork and resilience. Despite facing a formidable opponent, the team showed composure under pressure and came up with brilliant strategies and executed them perfectly on May 29.
Each and every player who got the opportunity to play for the yellow army during the IPL 2023 season took the responsibility to perform his role for the CSK side. Players like Akash Singh and Mitchell Santner who got just a few games in the initial stage of the tournament, did exactly what was required for their side.
Dwaine Pretorius himself just got a single opportunity to play for CSK in IPL 2023 in the game against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The South African all-rounder bowled some crucial overs on a flat deck along with his South African teammate Sisanda Magala who was playing that game too.
