The sudden demise of Australia’s cricket legend Shane Warne on the evening of 04th March left the cricket fraternity and the fans around the world shocked. The late Australian cricketer was given a tribute on the second day of the India vs Sri Lanka Test as both the teams observed a minute’s silence and donned black armbands in his honour. Another former Australian cricketer Rodney Marsh passed away on the same evening as Warne’s. While the world mourns the loss, fans slam Sunil Gavaskar calling him “classless” & “mean” for his absurd comments towards Warne’s death.
Sunil Gavaskar was part of a news channel discussion when he made remarks about Warne’s death that have infuriated a lot of fans and the veteran Indian cricketer has been receiving a lot of flak online. Gavaskar, while talking to the channel, shared that Warne was always full of life and wanted to live his life to the fullest and the way he lived his life may have led to his sudden and early demise at the age of only 52.
“He was always looking to live life fully, king size. And he did that and maybe because he lived life in such a manner is perhaps the reason why his heart couldn’t take it and he passed away so soon,” said Gavaskar during a news channel duscussion.

Fans slam Sunil Gavaskar as his remarks towards Warne’s life were outright insensitive and obnoxious. Gavaskar even mentioned that he found Muttiah Muralitharan and other Indian spinners better than Warne.

Warne was not greatest according to Gavaskar sahab on the basis of his performances in india. For umpteenth time gavaskar has embarrassed us as indians (only because of his statements).

As for his career, Warne is still the second-highest wicket taker in Test cricket with 708 wickets just behind Sri Lanka’s Muralitharan who has claimed 800 wickets in the red-ball cricket. Whatever the reason, the unfortunate demise of the bowling legend has jolted the cricketing world for sure.
