The fans craved for a tough competition and nail-biting matches, but the 2021-22 edition of the Ashes series turned out to be a one-sided affair. The English team looked down and out and were bullied by the Australian team as they retained their Ashes crown after winning the third match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Team England got out on a paltry 68 in their second inning and Wasim Jaffer takes a dig at Michael Vaughan for his old tweet on the Indian team.

The Ashes series is one of the biggest rivalries in cricket and it always promises to entertain the fans with high-voltage cricketing action, however this year the entertainment was rather bland. It was all Australia ever since the series began and the English team looked out of touch from the word go. Their batting display was so poor that they were bundled up on the abysmal score of 68 in the third match. Following their performance, Indian veteran Wasim Jaffer took a dig at former England captain Michael Vaughan.

For the uninitiated, the Indian team was wrapped up by the New Zealand bowlers on the score of 92 at Hamilton in 2019. Following team India’s performance, Michael Vaughan had made fun of the team with his tweet saying, “Can’t believe any team would get bowled out for under a 100 these days !!!!!”

Wasim Jaffer is never shy of sharing his opinion on the social media and has yet again come up with a tweet taking dig at Michael Vaughan for his old tweet. Jaffer posted a video on his Twitter handle displaying the tweet by Vaughan and then smiling and giving a thumbs up. The hilarious dig taken at Vaughan went viral in no time. Even Michael Vaughan himself reacted to the video, and appreciated Jaffer for the same.

Australia has retained the Ashes title and will now look to do a clean sweep against England. They have a great chance of doing so as the English team looks brittle at the moment, especially their batting. England will play for their pride and even if they win any match from here on, it will only be a consolation for them.
