Karun Nair shares emotional note after Ranji Trophy snub
The star Karnataka batter was once in the scheme of things of Indian team management. However, due to the consistent string of failures, Nair was not included for this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy and as he couldn’t find a place in the Karnataka squad for the first two games of the upcoming Ranji Trophy the 31-year-old became emotional.
Karun Nair took to his official Twitter handle on December 10 and wrote, “ Dear cricket, give me one more chance ”. The tweet has gone viral across all the social media platforms. Cricket fans showed immense support with the Karnataka batter as the tweet has already got 8409 retweets and 100k+ likes on Twitter.
Dear cricket, give me one more chance.🤞🏽

Karun Nair made his Test debut in November 2016 vs England at Mohali. It’s worth noting that Nair is the only Indian batter other than Virender Sehwag to score a Test triple-century. He scored an unbeaten 303 during the fifth and final Test match against England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in December 2016.
Courtesy of his stellar knock against England in Chennai, Karin Nair got into all sorts of the limelight and was believed to be the future superstar of Indian batting. However, things didn’t go his way as he represented the Indian team in just six Tests and two One Day Internationals. Nair hasn’t featured in any International game since 2017.
Karun Nair did perform consistently for his state side for quite some time but his recent performance hasn’t been good enough. The star-studded Karnataka side has got some young talented batters due to which they have left out Nair from the squads of all three formats. Karun Nair’s tweet does look promising and ambitious but the numbers are not in his favor and he will have to perform really consistently in order to get back into his state and then national side.
