Rishabh Pant gets injured ahead of Champions Trophy 2025
Meanwhile, during a practice session at the ICC Academy in Dubai today, India faced another injury scare. Rishabh Pant was struck on the knee during a net session. Hardik Pandya, who was batting in the nets, hit a shot that accidentally struck Pant’s knee.
According to the Hindustan Times, the wicketkeeper-batter was in visible pain, prompting the physio to arrive quickly and apply an ice pack followed by a bandage. The injury occurred on Pant’s left knee.
Hardik Pandya immediately rushed to Rishabh Pant, and as Pant stood up, the two shared a hug. Shortly after, Pant left the ground and went to the changing room. A little later, Pant returned to the nets to bat; however, he appeared to be in some discomfort, as quoted by Hindustan Times, which could be a cause for concern. Meanwhile, we await further details on Pant’s condition.

Rishabh Pant might be benched for the initial matches of the Champions Trophy as India has entrusted KL Rahul with wicket-keeping duties. In Pant’s place, Axar Patel is being given an opportunity, adding extra balance to the playing XI as an all-rounder. Since returning from his horrific car accident injury, Pant has played only one ODI match.
