Afghanistan chased down a competitive target of 283 runs quite comfortably on a tricky wicket at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This defeat has made things even worse for the Babar Azam-led side as they have already lost 3 out of their 5 games in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

It’s worth noting that the Men in Blue have a week off after the game against New Zealand in Dharamsala. Their next match is scheduled on October 29 against the Defending Champions England who are struggling quite a bit in this tournament.
The Indian team has chosen to stay in Dharamsala for two days as they enjoy their break between the two games. The much-needed break will help in the workload management of their senior players.
