It’s worth noting that Aakash Chopra usually got the role of an anchor and his role in the Indian side was to remove the shine of the new ball to help premier batters make early inroads.
He was a classical test opener who made some crucial partnerships with legendary opener Virender Sehwag. The aggressive game of Sehwag used to allow Aakash to play the anchor role.
The former opener got a chance to represent Team India in 10 test matches in which he scored 437 runs with his low-risk classical style batting.
