If reports are to be believed, Rohit Sharma was approached to take over T20I captaincy in the recently concluded T20I series in South Africa. However, the 36-year-old cricketer had asked for a break after the 2023 World Cup.
On Tuesday, Rohit Sharma will make his first outing since the 2023 World Cup final. He will be leading India’s red-ball side in the 2-match test series against South Africa commencing on December 26 at Centurion. If India manages to win the series, it will be their first-ever Test series win on Proteas soil.
