There was a buzz in the cricket fraternity when the former Indian captain Virat Kohli pulled out of the first two Tests against England. As per BCCI sources, Virat Kohli had already informed Rohit Sharma and the team management that he had opted out due to personal reasons. The richest cricket body also urged the media outlets and the fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy at this time.
Team India played the first two games without Kohli wherein they lost the Test opener in Hyderabad but made a comeback in the Vizag Test to level the series. Amid the ongoing series, Kohli’s close friend, AB de Villiers caught the attention of the Indian cricket fraternity by claiming in a live interaction on his official YouTube channel that the former Indian captain is expecting the birth of his second child.
During the live session, he further stated that one can’t judge Virat Kohli for this personal reason. At the same time, he said that Kohli made the right decision before wishing him and Anushka Sharma the best. “So, yes his second child is on the way, it’s family time. You cannot judge Virat for that, and yes we miss him but he’s made the right decision. We wish him all the very best for the great blessing of being able to become a father for the second time and All the Best to Anushka as well,” AB de Villiers said in the video.
AB de Villiers says he shared false information
After AB de Villiers’ initial stance on Kohli, some of the netizens were unhappy with the South African for leaking out Kohli’s personal matters. Meanwhile, all of a sudden, Mr 360 took a U-turn on the ‘Virat Kohli expecting a second child’ comment by stating that he had made a terrible mistake and that he shared false information.

“Family comes first, it’s priority, as I said on my YouTube show. I also made a terrible mistake at the same time – Sharing false information, which was not true at all. So, I just think whatever space for Virat and his family comes first. No one knows what’s happening there. All I can do is wish him well and I think the whole world that follows Virat and enjoys his cricket, must just wish him well and whatever the reason is for this break, really hope that he comes back stronger and better and healthier and fresh and ready to take on the world again,” AB de Villiers told Bhaskar in an exclusive interview.
