Team India captain Rohit Sharma who is leading the national side in a World Cup for the first time ever was seen experiencing a range of emotions during the pre-match national anthem of India.
The Men in Blue and Pakistan are facing off against each other in 2022 T20 WC at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Choosing to bowl first, India got off to a dream start as the left-arm pace of Arshdeep Singh sent both Md. Rizwan and Babar packing in the first 3 overs.
Nonetheless, thanks to a combined assault from Ifthikar Ahmed (51 off 34) and Shan Masood (52* off 42) Pakistan managed to put 159 runs on the board.

Before the game began and the sides tred out to sing their national anthems, India skipper Rohit Sharma could not control his emotions as ‘Jan Gan Man’ played.
Rohit experienced a range of emotions from smiling in happiness to almost crying due to the pride that comes with representing the nation on the grandest stage.

Notably, today’s IND vs PAK clash is Rohit’s first ever as a captain in T20 World Cup.
He was appointed as India’s full-time skipper only after the conclusion of the 2021 T20 WC.
India’s response was rather meek as both the openers –KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma– fell for 4 each. Team India at the ten-over mark was 44 for 4 at the end of 10 overs.
However as the article is being written, Hardik Pandya and Kohli have smoked 3 sixes off Mohammed Namaz.
Fourteen overs have been completed and India stands at 90 for four wickets and needs 70 more off the last 6 overs with designated finisher Dinesh Karthik still to come.
Pakistan pummeled India under Virat Kohli at the 2022 T20 WC by 10 wickets before also coming out trumps in one of the 2 games against Rohit Sharma led India in the 2022 Asia Cup.
Thus, Virat and Pandya would want to pull one back and exact revenge for the recent domination they’ve received from their arch-rivals.
