World champions India are all set to take on England in a five-match T20I series. The highly-engaging contest will start on July 1 at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street. The series promises plenty of excitement as two of the strongest teams in world cricket face each other for the first time since their T20 World Cup semi-final earlier this year.
India will enter the series looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Ireland. The Men in Blue will now hope to regain confidence and return to winning ways against a tough England side in their own backyard.
England have not played a T20I since losing to India by seven runs in the semi-final of the 2026 T20 World Cup at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on March 5. That defeat ended their title hopes, and they will now see this home series as the perfect chance to respond. Playing in familiar conditions should also give the hosts extra confidence.
Harry Brook will lead England, while experienced players like Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Phil Salt, Adil Rashid, Sam Curran, and Will Jacks strengthen the squad. England have also included several young players as they continue to build a balanced team for the future.
The five-match series will be played across five different venues in England. After the opener in Chester-le-Street, the action will move to Old Trafford in Manchester for the second T20I. The third match will take place at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, followed by the fourth game at the County Ground in Bristol. The series will end at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.
Both teams have plenty to prove. India will want to leave the Ireland series behind and show why they are the reigning world champions. England, meanwhile, will look to make the most of home conditions and take revenge for their World Cup semi-final defeat.
