The ACC U19 Asia Cup started off on Thursday with the IND U19 vs UAE U19 encounter in Dubai. In the tournament opener, the Yash Dhull-led Indian side posted a total of 282 runs while batting first, in return of which the UAE side could only manage 128 runs and lost the match by 154 runs. The Indian opener Harnoor Singh was the stand-out player in the match as he scored 120 runs off 130 deliveries.

The PAK U19 vs AFG U19 game was a one sided encounter right from the start. The Afghanistan batting line-up had no answers whatsoever in front of the Pakistan U19 bowling attack. They got bundled out for just 52 runs in 23.1 overs. The Pakistan side managed to chase the score down in 16.4 overs, at a loss of 6 wickets. Both India and Pakistan are hence coming out of comprehensive victories in their first matches. The two nations being arch-rivals, it would be interesting to see how the game turns out on Saturday.
