Team India has started its preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup which is going to commence in October. The team has started focusing on their Playing XI for the marquee event and the fans may see a few new faces in the squad. While the team is gearing up for the grand tournament, Sanjay Manjrekar makes a big claim regarding the place of Ravindra Jadeja in the T20 World Cup team.
Sanjay Manjrekar makes a big claim regarding Ravindra Jadeja
Hardik Pandya has come back into the scheme of things for the team and Dinesh Karthik’s storming back into the team has made things difficult for the selectors. In the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa, both Hardik and Karthik displayed great skills and have made a strong case for their inclusion in the team. Considering the current scenario, Sanjay Manjrekar makes a big claim and feels that Ravindra Jadeja may not be a part of the team for the ICC tournament.
Ravindra Jadeja was all set to play in the 5-match T20I series against the Proteas however an injury prevented him from participating in the series. Jadeja has been phenomenal for the Indian team for quite some time now and is a strong contender to be in the Indian T20 squad for World Cup. Contrary to this fact, Sanjay Manjrekar makes a big claim that Ravindra Jadeja won’t fit in the team for the T20 World Cup.
“Clearly, Dinesh Karthik has shown that he can be a number 6 or 7 as a pure batter. The impact that he is making is phenomenal and we saw that in T20Is against South Africa and also in the IPL. So, it’s not really going to be easy for Jadeja to come in and take his place and India might settle in with somebody like Axar Patel,” Sanjay Manjrekar makes a big claim in a virtual chat with Firstpost.

Sanjay Manjrekar makes a big claim because he thinks that Jadeja will not fit in the current squad considering the form of Dinesh Karthik. While talking about Jadeja’s place in the squad, Manjrekar also showed concern on Rishabh Pant’s form in the shorter-format. The Indian wicketkeeper has had a string of poor performances in the T20Is and the fans would want him to get back to his form.
