The second ODI between India and South Africa in Raipur delivered cricket, drama, emotion, and an unexpected burst of entertainment from Virat Kohli. The moment came when Quinton de Kock fell prey to Arshdeep Singh’s bowling as Washington Sundar completed the catch. And then, almost instantly, Kohli broke into a playful “nagin dance.”

The crowd loved it. His teammates laughed. The cameras captured it instantly. The clip flooded social media within minutes. This single moment added a refreshing spark to a high-pressure match. It showed the fun, expressive, and lively version of Kohli that fans have adored for more than a decade.

A Fun Celebration from Virat Kohli That Stole the Show

Kohli has always been expressive on the field. He loves celebrating wickets, taking on challenges, and showing raw emotion. But this time, he surprised everyone with this quirky “nagin dance.” It was simply Kohli enjoying the moment and lifting the mood of the game.

Fans at the stadium stood up immediately. Some even copied the dance in the stands. The commentators could not stop laughing. Social media reacted instantly with memes, edits, and fan-made videos.

For a few minutes, the cricket world paused and talked only about Kohli’s celebration.

Virat Kohli Shines With the Bat Too

His fun celebration did not overshadow his performance with the bat. Kohli had already played a brilliant innings earlier in the match. He scored a fluent century. He ran hard between the wickets and rotated the strike constantly. The right-hander scored 102 off 93 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes.

It was the kind of batting display that defines Kohli’s experience and class. Ruturaj Gaikwad, at the other end, matched him with a century of his own. Together, they built a massive partnership that kept India in control for a long time. The Indian dressing room looked comfortable. The fans believed the match was sealed. The total of 358 appeared strong enough on a surface that was helpful for batting.

South Africa ace the run-chase

But cricket always finds ways to surprise. South Africa chased the target with determination. Their top order batted aggressively. Their middle order stayed calm. Aiden Markram held the innings together with a superb century.

India kept searching for wickets in the middle overs, but the Proteas batters kept their focus. In the final overs, they showed more control and confidence. Their strong finish helped them level the series 1-1. The ODI series decider will go all guns blazing on December 6, Saturday, at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

Markram was adjudged the Man of the Match for his stellar century. After the match, he said, “You’ve got to get through that initial period. We saw in the first game what the middle order did and from my side I did feel a bit responsible that we just came up short. If you kick on into the 70s, the outcome could easily be different. Tonight, under lights, the wicket had a bit more pace and swing, so the plan was to get in, find some rhythm, and then push on from there. I can’t remember the exact over, but later in the innings we (himself and captain Temba Bavuma) chatted and felt we were both set. That’s normally when I try to play my shots. If one of us gets out, then you rebuild with the next batter. The partnership felt solid. I’m proud of the boys for getting us over the line. It was tricky at the end, high-pressure moments, but the guys stayed calm and got the job done.”
