The Indian Premier League 2024 kick-started just a couple of days ago and the cricket fraternity was gifted with loads of exciting and interesting moments already. While CSK defeated RCB in the tournament opener, PBKS got the better of DC in the second game. Meanwhile, the third game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad witnessed one heck of a run-fest as both teams entertained the fans in the best scene.
KKR and SRH tried their best to outsmart the other but in the end, KKR had the last laugh in the battle as they won the game by four runs. During the game, there was one incident that became a major talking point on social media. KKR’s fast bowler Harshit Rana became the center of attention after he gave a weird send-off to Mayank Agarwal, which took the latter by surprise and all those raw moments were caught on camera.
BCCI fined Harshit Rana for giving a fiery send-off to Mayank Agarwal
The incident happened during SRH’s run-chase when Mayank Agarwal got off to a terrific start where he played shots quite sensibly and started posing threats to the KKR bowlers, including Harshit Rana against the run of play in the powerplay overs.
However, Harshit Rana used a short ball ploy to outwit Mayank Agarwal in the third ball of the sixth over. The right-handed batsman tried to pull the ball but his shot lacked enough power and elevation as Rinku Singh took an easy catch in his safe pair of hands as Mayank departed for 32.

The match referee found the KKR bowler violated the IPL’s code of conduct. As a result, he has been fined 60% of his match fees. Harshit Rana was found to have committed two Level 1 offenses under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. For two offenses, he received fines of 10% and 50% of his match fees respectively.
Soon after that, Harshit Rana gave a flying kiss send-off to Mayank, which probably the latter didn’t expect it in the first place and the video clip of the same has gone viral. Talking about the game, KKR posted a humongous total of 208/7 in their designated quota of 20 overs, courtesy of Andre Russell’s 64 off 25 (3 fours and 7 sixes) whereas Phil Salt chipped in with 54 off 40 (3 fours and 3 sixes).

SRH’s T Natarajan looked good for his 3/32 in his quota of 4 overs. In response to the target, the Sunrisers gave absolutely everything in the run-chase but fell short of the target. SRH’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Heinrich Klaasen gave all sorts of troubles to the opposition with his 63 off 29 (8 sixes) but Harshit Rana changed the complexion of the game by dismissing him in the penultimate ball of the 20th over.
