It seems everything is in a disarray at the moment for Mumbai Indians who lost three games in a row in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Ever since Hardik Pandya was appointed as the new captain, there hasn’t been any sign of improvement from the team as far as producing the result is concerned. In fact, several eyebrows were raised when the MI think-tank took a bold call to replace Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as the captain.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan labelled it as one of the strangest moves in the history of the sport. The MI fans weren’t too happy with the captaincy change and surprisingly, they went on to boo Hardik Pandya, the moment he opened the bowling for the team in the game against Gujarat Titans. The drama didn’t end there as it continued even at the toss ahead of the game between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.

When Sanjay Manjrekar asked the fans to give a huge round of applause for Hardik Pandya, the crowd responded with loud boos and the commentator asked the fans to “behave”, an incident that went viral on the internet. Amidst all this drama, there is another video that caught the attention of the cricket fraternity. Former MI captain Rohit Sharma urged the fans not to boo Hardik Pandya.

During the game against Rajasthan Royals, when Rohit Sharma was seen patrolling near the boundary rope, he could seen coming up with a gesture, requesting the fans to calm down and not to boo Hardik Pandya and the video clip has spread like wildfire on social media. Talking about the game, MI failed to bring the best out of themselves with the bat as they ended up at 125/9 in their quota of 20 overs

Captain Hardik Pandya top-scored with 34 off 21 (6 fours). Yuzvendra Chahal haunted his former franchise by producing a bowling masterclass as he registered 3/11 in 4 overs. Trent Boult also looked good for his 3/22 in 4 overs and was named the Man of the Match. In reply, the Royals chased down the target in 15.3 overs and won the game by six wickets. Riyan Parag guided the team to a win with his unbeaten 54 off 39 (5 fours, 3 sixes).
