After a humiliating first day, India made a strong comeback on the 2nd day of the ongoing test. India was all-out at the score of 242 and was unable to get a single wicket of New Zealand on the first day. So far, India has shown complete domination on the 2nd day. Indian didn’t let Kiwi batsmen build partnerships. However, Jamieson and Wagner frustrated team India putting up a partnership for the 9th wicket. But a sensational Ravindra Jadeja catch vs NZ helped India restricting the opponents at the score of 235.

This all happened in the 72nd over of the innings. Indian bowlers were striking wickets in quick successions. But the tailenders helped New Zealand diminishing India’s lead. A 50-run partnership between Jamieson and Wagner put India on back-foot. Taking a wicket here was very important for the visitors or else New Zealand team would have come back in a strong position.

Niel Wagner pulled a Mohammed Shami delivery and Jadeja at square leg ran backwards, leapt high in the air and grabbed the ball in his left hand. This Jadeja stunning catch vs NZ was all about timing, judgement and control. Jadeja’s one-handed stunner turned out to be game-changer. It broke a 51-run partnership for the 9th wicket.

2nd Test So Far

After a couple of overs, Shami dismissed Jamieson at the score of 49. New Zealand was all-out at 235 and now India had a lead of 7 runs before the start of 2nd innings. However, India’s struggle against Kiwi bowlers continued in 2nd innings as well. The opener Mayank Agarwal departed after scoring runs. Prithvi Shaw’s wicket also fell when India’s score was 26.

Later, Virat Kohli also walked back scoring 14 runs. Indian skipper’s dismissal was an action replay of his wicket in 1st innings, only the bowler was different. When this article was posted Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane were at the crease. India was playing at 55 at the loss of 3 wickets.
