England lifted their second T20 World Cup title on Sunday by defeating Pakistan in the Final under Jos Buttler’s captaincy. Buttler, who was appointed as the full-time limited overs captain of the English side earlier this year, has impressed everyone with his leadership. However, after the WC Final win on Sunday night, it was Jos Buttler’s caring gesture towards his teammates, Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, that yet again won everyone’s heart.
Jos Buttler, with his gesture toward two of his fellow teammates, showed that being the captain of a side is not just about going out there to win the matches but is also about mutual respect and care towards fellow players.
Jos Buttler’s gesture toward his teammates impresses everyone
It happened after England’s win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup final, during the celebrations. As the England captain lifted the trophy and stood with the team for the photo shoot, just before the champagne celebration he gently reminded his teammates, Adil Rashid, and Moeen Ali, to step aside. It has been seen on many occasions that due to their religious beliefs, both Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid refrain themselves from indulging while the team is celebrating with champagne. Hence, keeping that in mind, captain Buttler reminded the two of his teammates just in time that the champagne celebrations are about to start and that they should move aside for a bit.
It was seen that Buttler even checked whether both Moeen and Rashid had stepped aside and only when he made it sure, the champagne bottles were opened. This caring and sweet gesture of Jos Buttler caught everyone’s eye and the video of the incident has gone viral. It showed how well the English captain respects and cares about his players. Praise has been pouring over Jos Buttler from all over social media after this incident.
