It has been a smooth sailing so far for the Indian white-ball team in the ongoing ODI series against West Indies. The new-look Rohit Sharma-led outfit took an unassailable 2-0 lead over their Caribbean tourists in Wednesday’s match. So fans can expect to see a few newbie names for the dead-rubber game on Friday.
Speaking of newbie players, Suryakumar Yadav has looked in great batting rhythm throughout the whole ODI affair. His match-defining knock of 63 runs in the second ODI came at a critical juncture of the game, and allowed India to reach a competitive total. Given his rich vein of form, ‘SKY’ seems to be almost a lock-in for the final ODI and the 3 T20I games that are to follow.
SKY and Rahul involved in a bizarre runout; Rahul left fuming
But for as fine as SKY’s dominance has been in these couple of matches, there was that one brief moment where he had a lapse in concentration and ended up running out his partner, KL Rahul. To be fair, it was a pretty close call, and Rahul should’ve shown slightly better judgement on his own part.
But at the time of his dismissal, Rahul seemed visibly upset with SKY, and was heard saying a few animated words before walking off the ground. Hmm. Could this little skirmish in the heat of the moment manifest into something much more fierce in the upcoming IPL? Are fans in for an intense Surya vs Rahul faceoff?
Well, as far as SKY is concerned, there was no bad-blood between the two star batters in the first place. In fact, shortly after Rahul got dismissed, SKY claims that he sent Ishan Kishan on the ground with a reconciliatory message to ease his nerves.
‘It was my fault; don’t worry and play your game”- KL Rahul to Suryakumar Yadav
" #KLRahul sends me the message through Ishan Kishan on ground, "that was not your fault, I heard the other voice of no-no. So, I was stoped in middle so don't worry and play your game. " 🤗❤️

“KL Rahul sent me a message through Ishan Kishan on the ground. He said, “That wasn’t your fault, I heard the other voice of no-no. That’s why I stopped in the middle. So don’t worry and play your game”, Surya was heard saying in a short post-match segment.
Brief scores: India 237/9 (S Yadav 64, KL Rahul 49, P Krishna 4/12) beat West Indies 193 (S Brooks 44, A Hosein 34, A Joseph 2/36) by 44 runs.
