The second edition of the Lanka Premier League is all set to kick-off from the 5th of December. The defending champions, Jaffna Kings, will take on the Galle Gladiators in the first match of the league. The entire group stage of the tournament will be played in the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The Knockout stage, including the final, will be played in the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota. A total of five teams will be battling out for a period of 19 days in order to lift the LPL 2021 title. The final match of the tournament is scheduled to be played on the 23rd of December.
The tournament consists of 24 matches in total. 20 matches will be played in the league stage in which the five teams will play each other in the double round-robin format. Each team will face the other participant teams twice. After the group stage concludes, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. The top two teams will battle out in Qualifier 1, the winner of which will directly qualify for the finals.
The third and the fourth-ranked teams will face each other in the eliminator. The winner of the eliminator and the loser of the Qualifier 1 will take each other on in Qualifier 2, which will decide the second finalist.
Lanka Premier League Live Telecast Channel in India
The Sony Sports Network has bagged the broadcasting rights of the Srilankan T20 League in the subcontinent. The Sony Six SD and Sony Six HD channels will be telecasting the Lanka Premier League Live in India.

Sony Liv, Sony’s Digital Streaming app, will provide the Live Streaming of the Lanka Premier League in India. Users need to purchase a Sony Liv subscription to get access to watch the whole LPL 2021 tournament. Currently, the app offers two plans Special+ and Premium worth INR 399 and 999 respectively (both plans have one-year validity). It’s worth mentioning that Jio users with an active daily data plan can stream the matches on the Jio TV app.
