The second Test between South Africa and India in Cape Town etched its name into the record books after the game was finished in 107 overs, becoming the shortest-ever match in the history of Test cricket. The game came to a close within two days and the shocking part was when 23 wickets fell on the first day’s play, taking the cricket fraternity by surprise. Rohit Sharma and Co made a stellar rebound by fixing their leaks in the second Test and approached the game with a better frame of mind.
South Africa won the Test opener by an innings and 32 runs to draw the first blood in the series. However, Team India led by Rohit Sharma turned things around to churn out a seven-wicket win. Rightly so, they clinched a historic Test to level the series at 1-1. Meanwhile, during the second Test, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was heard abusing during South Africa’s innings, which were caught in the stump mic.

The incident happened in South Africa’s second innings when one of Mohammed Siraj’s deliveries went on to ricochet Nandre Burger’s pads before skipper Rohit Sharma took a catch at forward short leg. At that time, the hosts were at 174 for the loss of nine wickets. The Indian captain was not sure about taking DRS but at that time, he used a cuss word before deciding to go for the DRS since three reviews were remaining already.

The Indian skipper was heard saying this cuss phrase, “Le leta hu, Maa ch****e gaya, 3-3 hai (We have 3 DRS, should take it)”. Meanwhile, the former Indian captain Virat Kohli was heard responding, “Haan lele lele {Yeah, yeah, take it (DRS)}.” The short convo was caught on the stump mic and the netizens recorded the very portion of it, and made it viral on social media. Talking about the game, South Africa were bowled out for 55 runs in the first innings before India responded with 153 runs.

On the contrary, the hosts posted 178 runs in the second innings and set up a target of 79 runs for the visitors. Rohit Sharma and Co chased down the target without any fuss and deservedly levelled the series, with the two-match Test series ending at 1-1.
