Pakistan’s former players and cricket fans are infuriated after Pakistan Team’s loss against Zimbabwe in the crucial super-12 stage game which has almost put full stop to their chances of qualifying for the semi-final.
Speaking to A Sports Wasim Akram said, “Ek saal se Pakistan, including us (Malik, Waqar Younis and Misbah ul Haq) knew that middle order slightly weak hai. Ab yeh ladka baitha hai Shoaib Malik. Main agar captain hota, mera end goal kya hota…to win the World Cup. Agar uss ke liye mujhe gadhe ko bhi baap banana pare main banaunga beacuse mujhe World Cup jeetna hain.”

Yeh woh moholle ki team nehin hai ki mera jaanne wala aa jayega. Agar main hota toh iss ladke ko (Malik) sabse pehle middle order main leta, “ he added. Shoaib Malik himself was also part of the panel of A Sports.
For the past one year, their has been a constant debate over Pakistan’s fragile middle order and their over dependence on skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Earlier, the experience campaigner Shoaib Malik used to lead the middle order along with Mohammad Hafeez.
The Pakistan middle order has some explosive players in Iftikhar Ahmed, Asif Ali and Mohammad Nawaz but they look really tentative whenever there’s a top-order collapse which usually leads to failure in crucial games.
