Team India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has become a nightmare for Australian batters in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Axar Patel, who played a heroic knock with the bat in the second test had a hilarious conversation with Jadeja after he didn’t get to bowl much in the first two tests as the latter ran through the Australian batting lineup.
Axar Patel hilariously blames Ravindra Jadeja for not getting enough overs to bowl
Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets in the first innings and then came up with his career-best figures of 7-42 in the second innings of the second test against Australia in the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. He also took 7 wickets in the first test at Nagpur.
Due to Ravindra Jadeja’s deadly bowling spells, Axar Patel, who too bowls left-arm spin hasn’t got a chance to bowl any significant spell in the series till now. Axar has bowled just 28 overs across 4 innings and has picked up just 1 wicket which is way lesser than the standards set by him in the recent past.
After Team India’s victory in Delhi test, Axar Patel interviewed Ravindra Jadeja on bcci.tv and the two spin-bowling all-rounders shared a hilarious interaction.
“Sir, meri to bowling aa nahi rahi hai. Axar ko bowling nahi dena hai isliye aisa ball dal rahe ho kya? (Sir, are you bowling like this so that Axar doesn’t get a chance to bowl?,” Axar asked Jadeja.
“They [the Australians] prefer playing the sweep and reverse sweep. My effort was to bowl stump to stump. If they miss and the ball stays low, then the ball is bound to hit the stumps. That’s what happened today when five balls hit the stumps,” replied Jadeja on a serious note.

Axar Patel couldn’t contribute much with the ball as both Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took wickets at regular intervals while Mohammad Shami too looked threatening as he ended up taking a four-wicket haul. However, it was Patel’s hard-fought knock of 74 runs in the first innings that restricted the Australian team from getting a significant first innings lead.

Australia looked good in the second innings as they were placed at a score of 61-1 at the end of second day’s play. Ravindra Jadeja had different plans on the third day as he ran through the Australian batting lineup as they lost 9 wickets in the first session of Day 3.
