India’s fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been the talk of the town for his world-class bowling spell in the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka in Colombo. The right-arm fast bowler brought the best out of himself by swinging the white-leathered ball in the best way possible. Rightly so, he reaped rewards for his terrific work rate. Sri Lankan batters literally ran short of ideas while facing Siraj’s deliveries that were out of this world.
The Hyderabad-born was the wrecker-in-chief as he ran riot with the new ball by taking as many as 6 wickets. In the process, he registered his career-best bowling figures in One-Day Internationals. For the unversed, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma wanted Siraj to bowl his full quota of 10 overs. However, the Indian trainer intervened as he did not want the bowler to take an unnecessary workload ahead of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.
Mohammed Siraj hogs the limelight by impersonating Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebration
A video of Siraj mimicking Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark ‘Siuuu’ celebration has been doing the rounds on the internet. The right-arm fast bowler pulled out the celebration after getting rid of the Sri Lankan skipper. The fast bowler made a complete mess of Dasun Shanaka’s stumps before impersonating Ronaldo’s celebration. Notably, his celebration gets worldwide attention as popular football pages have been circulating images online.

Notably, Mohammed Siraj became the eleventh Indian bowler to take a six-wicket haul in One-Day Internationals. He was named the Player of the Match for his supreme bowling spell that changed the entire complexion of the game. His match-winning spell helped Team India skittle out Sri Lanka for a mere 50 runs. Sri Lanka recorded their lowest-ever total against India in ODIs and it is also their second-lowest team total in ODIs.

He also became the third Indian captain after Mohammad Azharuddin and MS Dhoni to win two Asia Cup titles.
