On Sunday, the final match of the 2021 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy played between Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Mumbai opener and skipper Prithvi Shaw achieved the feat of most runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. The 2021 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy has been very good for the Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw. He has achieved some big feat ahead of his name in this year’s edition. On Thursday, during the semi-final game against Karnataka, the 21-year old batsman broke Mayank Agarwal’s record of scoring most runs in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy edition. Agarwal had registered 723 runs in the 2017-18 edition.
On Sunday, Shaw also scored his 800th run of the 2021 edition and hold the most runs award in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. Mumbai Skipper has scored 827 runs in this year’s edition. In the final of the league, Prithvi has scored crucial 73 runs off just 39 balls and helped Mumbai to lift the fourth title of VHT.
Earlier this week, during the quarter-final match against Saurashtra, Shaw broke Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s record of the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in a List A chase. Prithvi achieved this feat after scoring an unbeaten 185 runs off just 123 balls.
While Indian former skipper had smashed 183 against Sri Lanka in 2005 and Kohli had scored 183 to register a win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2012.
