Mumbai Indians took on Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023 game on May 3 at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Punjab Kings took a dig at Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma for getting out on a Duck after which Mumbai Indians came up with a hard-hitting tweet and trolled them on their IPL performance.
Mumbai Indians defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets in a high-scoring thriller. However, their skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a Duck by Rishi Dhawan just in the first over of their innings which allowed the PBKS franchise to troll the MI captain.

The Punjab Kings’ official Twitter account cheekily tweeted ‘R0′ poking fun at Rohit’s dismissal for a Duck. MI didn’t respond to PBKS’ tweet straight away and waited till the end of the game.
In their response, Mumbai Indians reminded the Punjab Kings of their empty trophy cabinet. They also mentioned that their skipper has got 6 IPL trophies. Notably, Rohit Sharma led MI to all five of their title triumphs while he also lifted the trophy in 2009 for the Deccan Chargers.
While the witty Tweet from the Mumbai Indians’ official Twitter handle went viral across the social media platforms. The tweet from Punjab Kings quickly drew criticism from cricket fans as Rohit Sharma is Team India’s captain as well.
Talking about the game, the PBKS side posted a mammoth total of 214-3 in their 20 overs. Liam Livingstone played a stellar knock of 82 runs off just 42 deliveries including 7 fours and 4 monstrous sixes. MI pacer Jofra Archer registered his most expensive figures in IPL as he conceded 56 runs and remained wicketless.
Young wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma too played a brilliant knock as he scored 49 runs off only 27 deliveries including 5 fours and 2 sixes. In response to Punjab Kings’ total, the MI franchise lost their skipper Rohit Sharma in the first over and were in a spot of bother but a formidable partnership between Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav helped their cause.
