The Nepal famous leg spinner cricketer Sandeep Lamichanne was blamed for raping a girl.
AIG Rabindra Singh Dhanuk at Kathmandu Valley Police Office confirmed the news while talking to the Setopati, Nepal’s Digital Newspaper.
The teenage girl complained and filed an FIR against Sandeep Lamichane that he raped her in the hotel in Kathmandu on 21 August. The Nepal police confirm the lodged complaint against him. Currently, she is in undergone a required health checkup.
As indicated to police, on the day before the Nepal cricket team’s Kenya departure on September 22 to play 5 t20is against them, the leggie Sandeep Lamichhaneasked her to go on an outing to Bhaktapur, and the teenage girl agreed.
The leg spinner is currently in the West Indies to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and is yet to give any statement on this issue.

The 17-year-old girl said that she was a supporter of the leg-spinner and she used to chat with him through WhatsApp and Snapchat. She says it was Lamichhane who first anticipated a meeting.
As the hotel closed at 8 pm, the victim girl was compelled to pass a night with the 25-year-old star at a hotel in Pingalasthan of Kathmandu, according to the complaint. It is suspected that Lamichchane drugged and raped her twice.

The development has also been confirmed by several other police officers at Kathmandu Police Range, Kathmandu Valley Police, and Nepal Police Headquarters as well.
AIG Rabindra Singh Dhanuk said that “A rape complaint has been filed against Sandeep Lamichhane. It’s a minor complaint, I will give further details regarding this tomorrow. The victim’s health check-up has also been performed this evening.”
Now, It remains to be realized whether the Nepal Cricket Association takes any action against their captain Sandeep Lamichhane. It will also be stimulating to see if the cricketer is called to report to the police station during this period in the CPL.
