The recently-concluded game between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants witnessed one heck of a run-fest and as many as 400-plus runs were scored on the match day at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both teams played the first and the second leg in the league stage and the Lucknow-based franchise came out on top in both battles. While the first leg was purely one-sided, the second leg had plenty of drama as the game was decided in the final over.
Marcus Stoinis played a masterful inning as he anchored the run-chase extremely well and guided the team towards the finishing line. The Australian all-rounder was adjudged the Man of the Match for his compelling knock. In the process, he scripted history by becoming the first player to have registered the highest individual score in the run-chase against an opponent. Stoinis registered an unbeaten 124 off 63 balls, laced with 13 fours and 6 hits over the fence.
Fan’s prediction on CSK vs LSG match result was spot on
Batting first, the five-time IPL champions posted 210/4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad top-scored with 108 off 60 balls with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes to his name. Shivam Dube pitched in with 66 off 27 deliveries including three fours and seven sixes to his credit. After CSK’s total, a random cricket fan took to his X handle and then mentioned that CSK’s target was 10 runs short. “210 set as target 10 runs short. LSG will chase this with 3 balls to spare,” the caption read.

Surprisingly, his prediction turned out to be true as the Lucknow-based franchise chased down the target with three balls to spare and won the game by 6 wickets. Even the official account of LSG replied to his post. Currently, LSG are fourth on the points table with five wins and three defeats, collecting 10 points and are in a comfortable position to qualify for the playoffs.

On the other hand, CSK must be gutted to have lost in a disappointing manner. The Yellow army are fifth on the league stage points table with four wins and four defeats, accumulating 8 points at an NRR of +0.415.
