New Zealand and Bangladesh will clash in a 3-match T20I series starting in Napier. The confidence of the Tigers will be at its peak after defeating New Zealand in the ODI match recently. Bangladesh may have lost the ODI series by 2-1 but they managed to bowled out Kiwis on just 98 runs and won their first ODI in New Zealand. Now the same ground will host the T20 series opener and here we are providing McLean Park pitch report for the match. You can also check the Napier Cricket Stadium’s T20 records and last T20 match scorecard below.

McLean Park has been a host to thrilling T20I matches since 2017. The latest international T20 encounter at this venue took place in November 2022, concluding in a  tie due to rain. Tomorrow will mark Bangladesh’s third T20I match at Napier. Previously, they have suffered defeats in both their matches here against New Zealand.

On the other hand, the hosts will be taking the field at McLean Park in the shortest format for the sixth time. So far, at this venue, Kiwis have secured victories against Bangladesh twice, have tied a match against India, and have suffered defeats against Pakistan and England in the remaining two games

McLean Park Napier Pitch Report for NZ vs BAN 1st T20I

The pitch at Napier Stadium is expected to assist the pacers in the initial overs of the innings. Therefore, batters are advised to begin cautiously, taking measured risks in initial overs. As they settle into the innings, they will have the opportunity to score runs and an innings can be finished with a high note here.

Winning the toss and opting to bowl first can be considered a wise decision on this venue, given the fact that the chasing side will have a slight advantage here. The team who will bat first will look to cross 180-run mark. However, things can be more challenging for Bangladesh as New Zealand is a much stronger side than them.
