In the viral video, a reporter asked Afridi about what he thinks on women in cricket and whether Peshawar should be getting its own girls cricket team and whether he too wished that Pakistani women should get progress in their sports or not.
The former Pakistan skipper gave a shocking response to reporter’s question as he said, “Yaar hamari khawateen k naa, hamari khawateen k haath mai maja bahut jyada hai. To wo khana bahot achha banati hai (Our women have magic in their hands, and so that’s why they cook really well)”

The reporter wanted to ask him a bit future about Women’s cricket but Afridi interrupted him and said, “Thank you. Jawab mil gaya naa aapko (You’ve got your answer).”
On February 12, Twitter user @mufaddel_vohra posted the video with the caption “Listen what Shahid Afridi thinks about Women’s cricket. “ Cricket fans were clearly displeased with Afridi’s comments and showed their disappointment on the viral video. The video has already been retweeted 321 times.
