The yellow camp started their season with a loss and ended their season with a loss as well which took their tally of losses to a whopping 10 games. They only won 4 games this season which makes this season the worst for the franchise. After their loss to RR, MS Dhoni makes a big statement in the post-match presentation on their future plans and it got fans thrilled as MS Dhoni will be back with CSK again next year.
While talking about the plans, MS Dhoni makes a big statement as he makes a special mention about Matheesha Pathirana who has been nicknamed ‘Baby Malinga’. The young Sri Lankan bowler’s action is inspired by the all-time Sri Lankan great Lasith Malinga and MS Dhoni revealed that the yellow camp will surely use Pathirana’s services in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

“Our Malinga is difficult to pick, and he’ll only surely contribute for us next year,” said Dhoni while talking about CSK’s future. Chennai had a lot of ups and downs this season, especially in their captaincy. Ravindra Jadeja was picked as the new captain but was later removed as the team performed poorly under him. Dhoni came back as the captain, however, Jadeja then made an exit citing a back injury which raised quite a few eyebrows.
The Chennai camp will definitely want to come back stronger in the next season as their fans have high hopes from them. It will be interesting to see whether Jadeja will be a part of the team or not. There have been a lot of speculations regarding the same and they will only be cleared once the next season of IPL approaches.
