Pat Cummins has been one of the most influential assets in the Australian cricket team. Under his captaincy, the Aussies have performed extraordinarily well in recent years as they retained the Ashes and won the ICC World Test Championship and the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. This goes to show that he has made significant strides in his leadership role. Well, fast bowlers are not traditionally picked for captaincy roles in cricket.
There has been a perception in the sport that the captaincy roles should be offered to only batsmen or all-rounders. Nevertheless, Cummins proved them all wrong by making a significant impact as a captain whose aura extends beyond tactics and victories. The veteran was last seen in cricketing action during the two-match Test series against West Indies at home and the series ended at 1-1.
Pat Cummins gave a superb reply to a fan on Valentine’s Day post
The senior pro was not part of the recently concluded three-match T20I series against the West Indies as he has been rested. However, he will be back in action for the three T20Is in New Zealand this month as he ramps up preparations for the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2024. In the meantime, he has been busy spending some quality time with his wife and he chipped in with a special post on Valentine’s Day.
The Australian skipper took to his Instagram handle and then shared amazing pictures alongside his wife, Becky Cummins on this special day. According to the picture, the power couple can be seen living the moment at the beach. Apart from posting the picture, the cricketer reserved the highest respect for his wife as his caption reads, “Super-mum, wife, my valentine and apparently a pro-surfer too. Happy Valentine’s @becky_cummins.”
The post spread like wildfire on the internet, with the netizens chipping in with interesting comments. However, there was one comment that grabbed Cummins’ attention. One of the Indian fans wrote, “I am Indian, I love you your wife.” In response, Cummins said, “I’ll pass it onto her!”.
