Sikandar Raza is currently one of the best all-rounders in limited-overs formats. He is a nominee for the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2024 award, alongside Travis Head, Babar Azam, and Arshdeep Singh. However, despite his outstanding T20 performances in 2024, Sikandar Raza remained unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Recently, he spoke about the snub at the auction.
Sikandar Raza is currently playing for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 league. During the tournament, he gave an interview to Sports Tak, which gives the impression that he may no longer be as interested in the IPL. When the interviewer asked him about going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Raza mentioned that he was not disappointed at all by this.
“Not at all. I have very strong beliefs and faith. What’s meant to be, meant to be. If you do everything you can, from a cricketing point of view, whether it’s on the international stage or the franchise stage, regardless of which tournament you are in, there is no selection. I go back; I work hard. I put my name in the next draft and see what happens. I don’t get disappointed easily” said Sikandar Raza.
Sikandar Raza was asked which league he prefers more between the Indian Premier League and the Pakistan Super League. His clear answer was PSL. “I enjoy PSL more. I find the PSL to be much more enjoyable. As far as enjoyment is concerned.” Raza told Sports Tak.

Choosing PSL over IPL is Sikandar Raza’s personal view, as he feels more connected to the atmosphere of PSL compared to IPL. He was born in Pakistan in 1986 and lived there until the age of 16. Therefore, playing in Pakistan gives him a sense of home.
