Rahul Tripathi has been one of the most consistent batsmen for the Kolkata Knight Riders. He has proved his worth by taking out the team from deep waters on numerous occasions. The right-handed batsman looked in good touch when he scored a half-century in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, however, he couldn’t replicate the same in the other 6 matches he played.
Kolkata Knight Riders performed rather poorly in IPL 2021. They played a total of 7 matches before the tournament was postponed and out of those 7 games, they could only manage to win 2. They only have 4 points to show on the points table with 5 losses. As BCCI plans to relocate the league and conduct the second leg of the tournament abroad, KKR will really have to perform well if they want to enter the playoffs.
Rahul Tripathi fined Rs.500
While the preparations for the rest of the IPL are on, the country is facing an invisible enemy in the form of the second wave of COVID-19. The Central Govt. and the State Govts. are trying their best to contain the virus and make sure people are safe and staying home.
This was the main reason why IPL was postponed midway indefinitely. Wearing a mask and sanitizing our hands at regular intervals has become a daily routine, but Rahul Tripathi seems to have forgotten the same and paid the price for it, literally.

The Govt. has issued strict guidelines as far as wearing a mask is concerned and they are even fining people who are seen without it. Rahul Tripathi found himself in a spot when the Pune police stopped him and fined him for not wearing a mask. The star KKR batsman was fined Rs.500 by the police for not wearing a mask inside his car. Tripathi agreed to pay the fine as he was at fault after which the police allowed him to go.
