India’s qualification hopes for the 2021 T20 World Cup play-offs are pinned on Afghanistan and Namibia. It is not at all a secret. While Kohli’s men have to win both of their upcoming matches to keep their team alive, they can’t qualify for semis unless Afghanistan or Namibia beat New Zealand. Namibia is playing T20 World Cup for the very first time. Therefore, expecting they’ll beat Kane’s men will be a bit too much. That leaves all of India’s hopes on Afghanistan.
Rashid Khan and Ravi Ashwin involve in witty banter
Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, recently featured in a press conference. The conference saw Ashwin getting candid and talking on several topics. He talked about how Indian team management isn’t thinking of the qualification scenario. Rather, they’re solely focusing on winning the next two games.
Apparently, Ravi Ashwin also spoke on Mujeeb Ur Rehman’s fitness issues. Mujeeb played the first 2 games of super-12 and was a class apart, picking 6 wickets at an average of 5.67 runs per wicket. However, he got injured during the clash against Pakistan. Since then, he didn’t take the field in the following games.
Afghanistan has been off-color owing to his absence. For them to beat New Zealand, Mujeeb has to play. Ashwin knew it too. Therefore, he made Afghanistan a cheeky offer of lending Indian physio’s help to make Mujeeb match-fit against Black Caps.
“Afghanistan has played good cricket and a lot of our hopes rest with them, so all the very best to them. I really wish if we could provide any physio support to Mujeeb we can get him on the field. That is all we can hope for,” said Ashwin, in a press conference.
Following this, Afghan spinner Rashid Khan has reacted to Ravi Ash’s help in a sarcastic manner. “@ashwinravi99 Bhai Don’t worry our team Physio Prasanth Panchada ‘Chusukuntunnaru,’ ” tweeted Rashid Khan, tagging Ravichandran Ashwin while doing so. Here’s the tweet.
@ashwinravi99 Bhai Don’t worry our team Physio Prasanth Panchada “Chusukuntunnaru” 😂😂🤪

His tweet translates to, “Don’t worry brother, Afghanistan’s team physio Prasanth Panchada is treating the players well.” For those unaware, “Chusukuntunmaru” is a Telugu word that translates to “treating us well.”
